Catching up with an elderly pal

Conversations with old friends, you've got your whole life in. It's always great to catch up on their life and be open to sharing what has become of old friends, co-workers or ex-lovers? Imagine you have a friend set you up or drag you down. Does that friend only talk about herself or does she show genuine interest in me?
